5. Make Running a Priority – Many of you won’t have a problem with this. But often times I hear people say that they just don’t have time to get their workouts in. As I mentioned before, I understand that life gets busy. But health should be number one on your agenda, above all else. Make running (or whatever exercise you do) just as important as eating, sleeping, or… brushing your teeth. When we look at health as not an option, but a necessity to live, then we will surely make time for it.
I hope that these tips will help you adjust your schedules, and think of even more ways to incorporate finding time to run in your your daily lives. In fact, if you have some tips of your own, add them to this list by emailing us. I can’t wait to hear your suggestions!
Great tips! And I was loving the idioms too! Thank you for including me! That made my day!
If you get enough other people pissed off at you because you haven't been able to run in a while, then it will also become a priority for them to make you go run. My family hates it when I don't get my stress relieving miles in. Every day the kids bedtimes get a little earlier.
Of course! You were the first person I thought about when I sat down to write this post. If anyone knows about making time to run, it's you. You don't let anything stop you. I admire that.
So true, John. My friends and family know when I haven't had a run in a while. It's funny what a few miles can do for us.
Great tips! I am one of the "crazies" who gets my exercise in first thing in the morning. The alarm goes off at 515am and I'm spinning or running by 545am! Sometimes when it's nice out, I will go for a 15 minute walk during my lunch break at work, but I've never gone for a run. I am most motivated by having a race on the calendar. Probably why I race all year long! Running, or exercise in general is definitely a priority for me. Like John said, my family will tell me to go run, they can tell that I need it!
