I suppose that I’m putting myself out there quite a bit for this post. It’s only fair, seeing that I’ve searched this very topic myself. There’s something about listening to certain songs that gives me an extra boost of motivation while running. I have my days where I’d rather leave my shoes at the door, but knowing that I can get lost in some tunes pushes me (and my shoes) out the door and onto the pavement. I comprised a list of songs – some I have listened to since day one, some that I burned out on long ago, and many that still keep me ramped up today. Give it Away – Red Hot Chili Peppers 🙂
Thanks to share
Nice addition to the list Elizabeth! Another good one by the Chili Peppers is "By the Way". I hear that all the time on Pandora. Thanks for commenting 🙂
You're welcome, i always look for new songs for my running playlist and im fanatic of Red Hot Chili Peppers :).
I guess I am a dork because I have several Rocky songs, lol. When I listen to them I feel like I'm back in middle school watching him whoop the Russian guy and that anything is possible. I also listen to American Pie, Johnny Cash, Elvis, Night Ranger When You Close Your Eyes, Rocky Top, Hatikva (Israel National Anthem), Madison Rising, Lynyrd Skynyrd, old school CDB, CCR and Bob Seger. I listen to mostly classics whether it is rock or country. Now that I am 40 I find I tend to listen to stuff of my childhood that brings back good memories( I don't have a lot so I take them whenever and wherever I find them, lol). Songs that brings good memories motivate me.
Oh by the way I would love to do a Rocky run and as I reach the top of steps throw my hands in the air and dance around and yell as loud as I can 🙂 Just call me Dork from now on,lol.
You're not a dork 🙂 In all honesty, I would probably kick it into high gear if I heard "Eye of the Tiger" jammin' in my earbuds. I love your additions. I've been known to crank up the CCR. And I've got to get some Madison Rising downloaded. I think they'd give me an extra boost during my long runs. Especially, they're "Star Spangled Banner". Thanks for adding your favorites!
