3. Take the Family with You – Ever see those moms and dads pushing kids in strollers while running? They’re taking Tip 3 here, and not letting a crazy schedule interfere with their running agenda. Not only is this a great way to get your miles in, but it allows you to share your passion with the ones you love most. Plus, the kids love it! Check out the picture to the right of my friend Leetra’s kids. They traveled over 1,200 miles with their momma in 2013. You can read all about their adventures on her blog Running My Life.
But this tip isn’t just for kids – perhaps your spouse would like to run with you and is also finding time to Run. If he/she is worried about not keeping up, go to a track and do laps together. This way everyone stays only a short distance apart.
Great tips! And I was loving the idioms too! Thank you for including me! That made my day!
If you get enough other people pissed off at you because you haven't been able to run in a while, then it will also become a priority for them to make you go run. My family hates it when I don't get my stress relieving miles in. Every day the kids bedtimes get a little earlier.
Of course! You were the first person I thought about when I sat down to write this post. If anyone knows about making time to run, it's you. You don't let anything stop you. I admire that.
So true, John. My friends and family know when I haven't had a run in a while. It's funny what a few miles can do for us.
Great tips! I am one of the "crazies" who gets my exercise in first thing in the morning. The alarm goes off at 515am and I'm spinning or running by 545am! Sometimes when it's nice out, I will go for a 15 minute walk during my lunch break at work, but I've never gone for a run. I am most motivated by having a race on the calendar. Probably why I race all year long! Running, or exercise in general is definitely a priority for me. Like John said, my family will tell me to go run, they can tell that I need it!
